Our Modular Toolbox

We transform uncertainty into actionable business plans and prototypes. The Zurich Method consists in three steps that interweave far-sighted strategic thinking and the concrete development of new products.

Step 1 - Strategy Creation

Developing actionable strategies that will be resilient in the face of change.

Systemic Foresight

We scan relevant social, technological economic, political, and cultural trends to identify signals that might herald substantial change. We look for drivers of change both inside and outside your industry.

Scenario Planning

Based on relevant trends, we create different scenarios that describe plausible and probable futures. In each scenario, we define key drivers, identify relevant actors and distill opportunities and threats.

Strategic Positioning

With reference to the opportunities and threats identified in different scenarios, we analyse your strengths and weaknesses and derive a long-term strategy for your organisation’s positioning

Step 2 - Ideation

Turning business opportunities into refined proposals.

Investigation

We dig deep by conducting desk research and expert interviews as well as by holding ideation workshops. Our goal: harness inspiration from both inside and outside your organisation to create something new and exciting.

Stress-Testing

Once anew ideas is established, we challenge and stress test them with open innovation formats such as Open Situation Rooms or War Games. Like this, we make sure to uncover weak spots and to challenge entrenched thought patterns.

Business Modelling

Once initial ideas are refined, we consider the framework conditions that need to be met for them to flourish. To this end, we develop minimalistic business models by using the business model canvas and by developing personas.

Step 3 - Prototyping

Developing business plans into valuable products and services.

Feature Development

We transform ideas developed in the ideation phase into concrete feature sets that are supported by explicit, testable hypotheses and which allow for a clear development path towards optimal product-market fit.

Rapid Prototyping

We refine each feature and its requirements and quickly move to hands-on representations in the form of paper prototypes as well as digital mockups, wireframes, and screen designs.

User Testing

During all stages of our iterative development process we reach out to potential users and include their feedback to be sure to move already as fast as possible towards a Minimum Viable Product.
